Here are some helpful hints to keep your aligners sparkling clean, and to keep your treatment moving as quickly as possible!

• Aligners must be worn 24 hours a day, except when eating, drinking, brushing or flossing.  Please wear them full time, day and night.
• Maintain regular checkups and cleanings throughout your Invisalign treatment at your dental office.
• Brush your aligners every time you take them out of your mouth.  We recommend using Polident FreshCleanse instead of toothpaste, as it tends to be less abrasive.  If you notice build up on your aligners (tartar), the Polident Retainer tablets are a great way to clean them.  Simply put a tablet in a glass of water, and soak your aligners while they're out (eg while you're eating dinner).  They should then brush clean.
• DO NOT USE HOT WATER TO CLEAN YOUR ALIGNERS  They should come clean with lukewarm or cool water and your toothbrush.
• Always store your aligners in their case when not being worn - replacement aligners cost money, and digging through the garbage for them is not very fun!  We have replaced many 'dog-eaten' aligners and retainers so keep them away from all pets!!
• It is very important for your gum and bone health that each aligner is worn for the prescribed amount of time.  Please speak with Dr Scramstad before making any 'alterations' to your schedule
